>> What better way to spend time on a train?

Barring Lakshmi and Goutham, everyone enjoyed playing cards. But Lakshmi proved to be a good PA to me and helped me in managing my cards :)

And we started...

OK, let me start blogging the trek.

Date: May 7th 2004
Place: Bangalore

It was about 4:30 PM when I came back home from office. The train (Karnataka exp to Delhi) was at 6:30 PM. I didnt know in which compartment our seats were. Thought of calling Lakshmi and enquiring about the same. Before I could find time to reach for the phone, she called me.

Me : "hey, I was just thinking of calling U"
She: "Lo, namdu yava compartment anta gottha?"

Later I called up Guru who in turn called up Kashyapa to find out which compartment we were supposed to board. Thankfully, no other phone calls were required to find it out.

BTW, what was the compartment? S3? I have forgotten now.

When I reached the station with my sis (Supriya), Lakshmi and Kashyapa were already there on the platform. I boarded the train to dump my luggage. Here I met Chetak and Goutham, two pretty serious looking men. I had only received mails from them, but had never seen them. The one with the spectacles on (Goutham) looked particularly serious. Then TC arrived, and in style he did !!! Two bags were hanging from his body, one at the back and one in the front. To rub the "Yo" look in, he was wearing a cap backwards, wore a trendy new look pyjama and had resisted the temptation to shave for 3-4 days. Guru arrived with his parents and his half asleep baby nephew who responded only after we dangled a few chocolates in front of him. Last to arrive was Goutham Tholpadi, alias Tholpi. The most amazing thing about him was that he had hardly any luggage with him !! A pair of military shoes comprised of more than half his luggage.

At last : a blog on Sar pass trek

Hi,

Started this blog to start discussions about the trek to Sar pass in May 2004. Will send out invites to all my friends who had accompanied me on this trek. Will be great to share the nostalgia as well as come up with a detailed documentation of our trek. It indeed was a GREAT trek.

My blog on blogspot talks about our trek from Padari to Ratapani.

regards,
